It was the first back after the dreariest half term that you can imagine and my first day back was blighted by two Media exams.
My half term was dominated by doing revision for my up and coming Economic exams (I had two later on that week) and I had only left it to the night before to properly start my Media studies revision. Well why not? It’s the not most taxing of subjects, and if in doubt I could try and bullshit my way through the paper.
I got talking to some of my media friends before the class and it was incredible how calm they were, yet I was bricking it again at the fact at how little revision I had done!
As one of our exams a film clip had to be shown, we changed exams rooms from the main exam hall, to that of our media classroom. Now I would argue it’s not the best for exam conditions, as everyone is fairly close together and could easily copy one another if they wanted too.
The first exam was watching an action and adventure clip, which turned out to be the bike chase from the film Stormbreaker, which was a tough exam. Not so much for what was being asked for me, but more the fact that I was suffering nightmare hand cramps, and it felt like I punching a bag of bricks just to fight through the pain and write like my life depended on it.
The first 2 hour media paper was out the way, and we were given a much needed toilet break before the 2nd exam paper. The second paper was just as tough and I struggled on through that, it was relief when it was all over.
I was drained emotionally, I had given them two exams everything , and I hope it’s enough.
