What has happened to Fridays? Friday evenings used to me the chance to let go from everything that was bugging us in the world. It used be the one day of the week where you could go to the pub in comfort knowing all your friends would be there with you hand in hand, all getting wasted together.
Friday’s has now come to this where it is just me going out… alone as I can’t drag anyone else out with me.
Even it may be incredibly looserish going out to the pub by yourself, I couldn’t spend the evening at home, I just couldn’t. I needed to get out the house somehow even if it was for a few hours down the pub by myself then, so be it.
After getting into the city for 8:30 I headed towards the western part of the city into a pub I haven’t ventured into before. After obtaining a strongbow, I settled down in this barn like setting of a pub. Trouble is going to the pub by yourself you have no one else to talk to, so all you have for a company is your drink, and maybe a TV which has sky sports on it to kill some time; still it was nice to be out the house for once.
I finished my pint, and after getting fed up watching Sky Sports News in the pub, I decided to go for a Donna Kebab. I took my take away to the nearby park and sat down on this wall in which some random man came up too me and started talking to me.
I went into another pub as well. This time it was the pub that I regularly go in with Dan and co, but as I couldn’t get in contact with them. Yet again I was a loner in a pub, with a pint in my hand, waiting eagerly for my songs on the jukebox to come on. This was the highlight of my evening, or so I’d thought.
I was sitting to myself to one of them tables in the middle and 3 chairs surrounding it. I was taking up one of the chairs and these 2 women came over and asked if it was alright to sit there”
At first it was slightly awkward as this 2 German women where in deep conversation, and there was me trying not to make it look like I was either staring at them or ear wigging into their conversations.
Then all of sudden this German girl called Katherine started talking to me. I was a little taken aback as this was the first time in about 3 years of going to the pub that a girl has approached me out of the blue.
To my surprise it was another German girl that I was talking too (Seemingly coincidently that all the success with women I’ve had been with they are all German)
Turns out she was this teacher assistant, and live nears the Bavaria region in Germany. We talked about beer and the local nightlife and such. It was generally a nice change to talk to someone and despite a few awkward silences I felt we got generally pretty well.
I even plucked up the courage to ask for her number at the end of the evening (Another first for me, exchanging numbers with a random girl!)
