Perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea to bunk Tuesday’s Media lesson, turns out I had a nasty shock this morning when it came to lesson time for a practice examination! I think the first thing I thought of was “FUCK! I’m screwed” and I endured a difficult 2 hours, doing an examination with no preparation from my part what so ever.
On the up side, I got to finish the lesson 45 minutes earlier than we would normally finish.
After the lesson I met up with some friends, one of which had just passed there driving test and had driven their car into College today. Instead of just sitting around at College with the other dullards as friends that I have, I decided to go join them in going for a spin in the car.
We headed all over the place, purely to kill some of our ridiculously long lunch break and needless to say I was impressed with my friend’s car. His first car was a Fiat Punto and needless to say I was imagining my first car won’t be anywhere near as good. Regrettably, unlike my friend, I won’t have the luxury of my parents paying for the car and insurance for me.
We then headed to the “Shopping Mall” type café that College now has (Due to its £50 million renovation of the College) before we headed to lesson.
Despite all this money being thrown at the College, it is just as shit as it was when I started way back in 2006. I hate the whole College ethos, and it so called bullshit attitude towards student learning.
As long as it keeps getting glowing publicity in the local media, I don’t honestly think it cares too much about the students concerns.
I mean like right now, in 2006 they had lesson times ranging from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours maximum, now they implement longer lesson changes without gaining any feedback whatsoever from tutors or the students. It’s only now there we’ve been given a crappy little questionnaire to fill out about the changes. No doubt any negative feedback we do give will be disregarded.
There are 2 sides of the College, there is the A Level section and there is the other section of the College which focuses running the B-Tech, GNVQ type courses. For a while College has accepted a load of expelled students from all the crappy schools nearby locally and been having them in order to get a shit load of money from the Government.
Not content in pissing in the corridor, or kicking down a toilet door when a tutor lecturer was reliving himself, they have now beaten up one course tutor. Now you’d think the College would react to such a situation by getting rid those wanker students, but instead keeps them and has brushed the whole incident under the carpet in order it doesn’t get any negative attention from it. Disgraceful.
Makes me glad I didn't go to Secondary school with such idiots.
